"WHAT ARE YOU GETTIN' AT, DENISE?"
"Well, I know your profile, Gordon. Beautiful agent, barely thirty..."
"I'M OLD SCHOOL, DENISE. YOU KNOW THAT. BEFORE YOU WERE DENISE, WHEN YOU WERE DENNIS AND I WAS YOUR BOSS, WHEN I HAD YOU WORKING UNDERCOVER AT THE D.E.A., YOU WERE A CONFUSED AND WILD THING SOMETIMES. I HAD ENOUGH DIRT ON YOU TO FILL THE GRAND CANYON, AND I NEVER USED A SPOONFUL BECAUSE YOU WERE AND ARE A GREAT AGENT. AND WHEN YOU BECAME DENISE, I TOLD ALL YOUR COLLEAGUES, THOSE CLOWN COMICS, TO FIX THEIR HEARTS OR DIE."
-- Gordon Cole and Denise Bryson, Twin Peaks: "...Brings Back Some Memories"
It is happening again...My co-host with the most Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Ghostwood: The Twin Peaks Podcast! This time, we're back with our commentary track for "...Brings Back Some Memories", a.k.a. "The Return, Part 4", from the 2017 Showtime revival of Twin Peaks, featuring the return of David Duchovny as Denise Bryson, and the introductions of Naomi Watts as Janey-E Jones, Robert Forster as Sheriff Frank Truman, and Michael Cera as the infamous Wally Brando!
LET'S ROCK!
In our latest episode, Xan and I discuss things like Xan's atrial fibrillation, Ray Wise and Sheryl Lee attending the 2019 Milwaukee Film Festival, Xan not being able to meet P.J. Soles, Twin Peaks producer Sabrina S. Sutherland's cameo, Russ Tamblyn's selfie with Steven Spielberg on the set of the West Side Story remake, Xan being all about the slot machine quarters, Ethan Suplee as Willam in Mallrats, David Dastmalchian in Mulholland Dr., Dougie/Cooper getting a sack of money, Dougie's house needing a chevron driveway to go with the red door, nobody thinking Dougie needs to go to a hospital, Janey-E not wondering how Dougie lost a bunch of weight in three days, turning on your wife by bringing home a sackful of money, Richard Chamberlain in The Thorn Birds, Gordon sticking up for Denise at the FBI, Denise Bryson being a pioneering trans character on TV, Lucy obsessing over the thermostat but not being able to grasp cell phones, the growth of the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department, Bobby Briggs leaving "killed a guy" off his police application, Andy and Lucy being the most successful romance on Twin Peaks, nobody wanting Chad around, Bobby's reaction to seeing Laura Palmer's photograph, Bobby having depth to his character, wanting to see Wally Brando as Jor-El in the 1978 Superman movie, Xan being more patient with "The Return" the second time around, Dougie/Cooper relearning how to urinate, Lynch giving Cooper fans a glimmer of hope with Dougie, my insistence that bacon always accompany pancakes, Cooper turning into the Old Waiter, hoping that Albert and Constance stayed together, Gordon apologizing in advance for Albert, Gordon interrogating Mr. C, blue filters for a Blue Rose scene, David Lynch as an actor, Au Revoir Simone being a bit of a letdown, Dune and Simpsons Halloween Special Funko figures, and more!
