"What's going on?"
"It's difficult to explain. Strange as it sounds, I think you're a girl named Laura Palmer."
-- Dale Cooper and Carrie Page, Twin Peaks: "What Is Your Name?"
It is happening again...My co-host with the most Xan Sprouse and I are back with a new episode of Ghostwood: The Twin Peaks Podcast! In this episode, we provide our commentary track for "What Is Your Name?", a.k.a. "The Return, Part 18", the final episode of the 2017 Showtime revival of Twin Peaks, featuring Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper/Mr. C, Laura Dern as Diane Evans, and Sheryl Lee as Carrie Page/Laura Palmer!
LET'S ROCK!
In this episode, Xan and I discuss things like Xan being in the Pink Room, my being overseas on vacation during the original broadcast of the Twin Peaks finale, David Lynch's 70-second 2011 short film The 3 Rs, making a new Dougie for Janey-E and Sonny Jim, Xan waiting in futility to find out what happened to Audrey Horne, Laura Dern dying her hair purple for Admiral Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Cooper and Diane kissing each other before entering a new reality, Diane meeting her exact duplicate in the roadside motel parking lot, Magic Fingers vibrating beds, Cooper and Diane's horribly uncomfortable sex scene, finally finding out who Richard and Linda are, wondering why we still don't have diner food while watching Twin Peaks, Cooper running afoul of the Duke boys, deep-fried guns, Laura becoming Carrie Page to keep herself safe, Mary Reber being the actual real-life owner of the Palmer house, Laura's terrifying final scream, wondering what Laura whispered to Dale Cooper in the closing credits, Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote as a serial killer, Xan and I needing to do a doughnut run, and more!
