NEXT STOP EVERYWHERE 202: "The Invasion" Is Up!

"You're still worried about your two friends, aren't you?"
"Yes, a bit."
"They can't have got themselves into any sort of trouble, can they?"
"Oh, you wouldn't say that if you knew them.  If there's trouble to be found, the Doctor and Jamie can't miss it."
-- Isobel Watkins and Zoe Heriot, Doctor Who: "The Invasion"

Hello again, everyone!  My partner in time Jesse Jackson and I are back with another new episode of Next Stop Everywhere: The Doctor Who Podcast!  This time, we're joined by special guest companion John Takacs to discuss "The Invasion", the third serial from Doctor Who Season Six in 1968, featuring Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon, Wendy Padbury as Zoe Heriot, and the first appearances of UNIT and John Levene as Corporal John Benton!

In this episode, Jesse, John and I discuss things like Jesse's Dallas Cowboys playing my Cleveland Browns, meeting Frazer Hines and Wendy Padbury at conventions, "The Invasion" being the first incomplete story completed using animation, Professor Travers being replaced by Professor Watkins, Frazer Hines having lead weights sewn into his kilt to keep it from being blown up by wind, Jesse being surprised by the first appearance of UNIT, my killing Jesse with an 8-episode classic story, UNIT's introduction to set up the Jon Pertwee era, Benton being chewed out by the Brigadier, Patrick Troughton's talent for humor, Zoe and Isobel not tolerating Jamie and the Brigadier's sexism, Zoe calculating how to redirect missiles in less than 30 seconds, Jimmy Turner and Isobel Watkins hooking up, Tobias Vaughn as Doctor Who's version of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Vaughn getting played by the Cybermen, gentlemen preferring tea, our favorite quotes of the episode, Zoe's sparkly catsuit, my Reverse the Reverse the Polarity segment, new feedback from Holly Mac and Dave Proctor, people needing to use hand sanitizer on Halloween candy wrappers this year, the Beatles appearing in "The Chase", a special shoutout to special guest companion Lee Leonard, "The Daemons" having a Wicker Man vibe, and more!
