Murmur brings new meaning to the phrase "silent but deadly."
io9 reports that the CW series Arrow has cast Adrian Glynn McMorran as DC Comics supervillain Murmur. McMorran will appear in the next episode "The Offer," which has this official synopsis...
Still weighed down by his last meeting with Ra's al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable), Oliver (Stephen Amell) returns home to find a new villain and his crew have started terrorizing Starling City - Michael Amar AKA Murmur (guest star Adrian Glynn McMorran), a man whose mouth has been sewn shut. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) bond over their issues with their fathers and Nyssa make Laurel an offer. Thea (Willa Holland) is forced to come to terms with her father after Oliver brings Malcom (John Barrowman) to the loft to recover, and Lance (Paul Blackthorne) shuts out both Laurel and the Arrow.
McMorran has previous experience with superhero TV shows, after apeparing as Jeremy Creek in the Smallville pilot and as Young Whistler in Blade: The Series. In addition, he's had roles in the series Dark Angel, Men in Trees, Masters of Science Fiction, Intelligence, Supernatural and Primeval: New World.
Created in 2001 by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, Murmur first appeared in The Flash: Iron Heights as Dr. Michael Amar, a once respected surgeon who went mad and began a killing spree to stop the voices in his head. In addition, Amar's psychosis made him unable to prevent himself from blurting out his crimes.
After it was discovered in Iron Heights prison that Amar's blood is so unusual that lethal injection cannot kill him, Amar cut his own tongue out and sewed his mouth shut so that he cannot incriminate himself. Donning a mask, Amar became the supervillain Murmur and later joined a group of Rogues formed by Blacksmith before striking out on his own.
Arrow will return to The CW with "The Offer" on Wednesday, March 18th.
