Day 28 PC you have Sworn off playing/

Before I started writing this post, I was looking at some You Tube shows and Gamer on games, is also on day 28.  It was kind of nice that he was thinking the same thing that I am.  So the only pc’s I don’t play any more are the one that are dead.
So here’s the deal, I believe that you can doing anything and if you are not having fun then something needs to be fixed, but that doesn’t mean stop playing a character. And that really is all I have today so until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 27 Favorite Cursed Item.

Sometimes I think doing things, just to get other to react.  There is no other item that can do that better than the belt of Femininity/Masclinity.

Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity
Dungeon Master's Guide
Encyclopedia Magica Vol. 2
XP Value: -
GP Value: 1,000 (Changing); 1,500 (Neutering)
This broad leather band seems to be a normal belt, but when worn, it immediately changes the sex of the wearer to the opposite gender. It then loses all power. There is no sure way to restore the character's original sex, though there is a 50% chance that a wish might, and a powerful being could alter the situation. Of these girdles, 10% actually neuter the wearer.           There you have it, So until tomorrow Keep Gaming.

Day 26 Favorite mundane Item

I think anyone that has ever been swallowed by a monster, would agree that the best mundane item would be the dagger.  It has so many uses, and can get you out of the belly of a monster. And just like that we are done for the day so Keep Gaming.

Day 24 & 25 Favorite spell and magic item.

With a two day post I could be on par with what day it is.  So let’s get it done.  Today we are going to talk about spells and weapons.  Just like the Dragons I am going to break this in to Cleric spell and Magic-user spell.
So I think there are two spells that I like at a cleric the first might not be by chose.  Cure spells, they are a staple of the class and some of them can be fun, like when you convince the bard to cast it on the undead enemy.  Now the one I get to choose is either Spiritual weapon, or shield of faith.
I don’t play the Magic-user that much, so I am not sure I have a favorite spell.  It might be Fireball.  There might be a sticks to snakes that the druid would use, that is cool.
I would have to say that my Favorite Magic item would be weapons and armor, they are common so you could get whatever you want.  I also like things like the robe of useful items. And color pigments that let you draw whatever you want.  There you have it, so until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 23 Least Favorite Monster overall

When I started thinking about this one, I was going to put the goblin.  There really is no reason then they are everywhere, I swear they are worse than rabbits.  Then I had a better idea for what I really don’t like about monsters.
In 4th edition it doesn’t matter what the monster type is, I think the worse thing D&D ever did was create the minion type they only have one hit point and really are worthless.

Day 21 & 22 Favorite Dragon and over all favorite monster.

I am going to do this in two parts I will do a good dragon, and a bad dragon.  Because I think they are different, and should be talked about.
So let’s start with the good one.  I am not sure about other editions, but in 1st edition the copper dragon would try and talk to people and if they did not talk back, the dragon would burry that person to his or her neck and then force them to talk.  I don’t know why I love this, but for this reason this is my favorite good dragon.
I think that through all the years, my favorite evil dragon is the Blue one.  I don’t really know why, I just like it.  That being said I like that in 2nd there was the book of dragons, in the book we learn of the yellow dragon.  I know that the great thing about D&D is that I could have turned any dragon in to a Yellow one, but I still like having it right in front of me.
My favorite monster over all comes from the 1st edition Monster Manual II, on page 86 starts the Modron.  They are funny looking things. My favorite one is on page 88 the Tridrone.  And there it is all my monster and dragons.

Day 20 Favorite Giant.

It is going to be really short today, in hopes that I can get some other blog's done, but my favorite Giant is the Cloud Giant.

Day 19 Favorite Elemental

I have not used many elementals, I have one in the King’s castle in my 1st edition game, and that is mostly it.  However in my 4th edition game I am working on something that I think will be fun.  A cross of the air and fire elementals.
And thus will become my favorite elemental.  I am hoping to use this new monster as soon as the players in my play by post game, are done with that House of Knowledge.  There you have it my favorite elemental.

An update on life

It has been some time that I have just posted about my gaming.  Most of that is because of school work and the 30 posting, that I am doing.  But now I think I will take some time and just say what is going on.
Let’s start with the two play by post games that I am part of.  There is not too much to tell about, there are only two players now in my group, so I am play a few NPC’s.  They are now back at the House of Knowledge, and we will see what happens.  I am hoping that we make it to the organ, and the book worm.  I really just need to find a group at the local game store and see if I can find some players to help me.
The game I am playing in, we are waiting to have a combat, but something is holding up the DM maybe school.  I am hoping that we can get that going soon.

Bryce con is coming, January 15-18, 2016

I got signed up for three games.  I will be running a Risk game on Friday that is going to be old school Risk.  On Saturday I will be running a Castles and Crusades version of B1 In Search of the Un-know, and a 1st edition Version of the same game.

I am two costumes planed out, they are the same just different colors, and for the last day I am deciding about a monk or a cleric.  No weapons allowed so I might just do the monk, even though I don’t have weapons for the cleric.

The Crypts and things game will be coming to an end soon, it has been a fun game, my friend is going to be busy with a play that he is in, and I am excited for him.

The 5th edition game is going great.  Last time we played we meet a hermit, and in the process of trying to get information we got to play Three Dragon ante.  I have wanted to try that game for some time, and see how it would work in a game.  I have to say that I think it went great, and I would add it to my game if I ever did the OA game again.

Well there you have it, so until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 18 Favorite Planner Being

Today is a fun one I think.  My favorite planner being is the angel.  I am not sure why, and I am not sure they are in other editions like they are in 4th edition.  But in 4th edition that have many angels like of mercy and war and so on.
In one of the Towers in my Neverwitner game, there is a door, and if you open it and go in there are 13 more levels of the tower but each one has an angle in it.  My players were not playing the game very well so I did not feel too bad when the angel of light killed them.  And there you have it my favorite planner being so until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 16 & 17 Favorite Ooze and Spider

Another double up day.  This time we are going to look at Favorite ooze and spider.
I love that the Green slime is just going to eat you alive, and the fire is really the only way you are going to get rid of it.
I love that in B1 In Search of the Un-know in the room with the pools in it, one of the pools had a green slime in it, and all the times I have run that game someone has poked at it.

Oh man spiders.  There are so many that I like, and am now thinking somewhere I need to add lots of spiders to one of my games maybe when the players get to Pirate Island in my 4e game.  But I think that my favorite is the Phase Spider, they are so hard to kill because after it attacks you it jumps back the ethereal plane and you can’t fight back.

Day 15 Favorite undead

The world of undead is great. So some would think that it would be hard to pick one undead to be my favorite, but I say unto you nah for I say that the best Undead is The Death Knight.  I think the first encounter I had with the death knight was in the Dragonlance books.
In the 1e game I am working one, I have 3 temples in an underground city.  I am thinking about changing 1 of them in to a temple of undead just so I could have the players fight a Death Knights.  I don’t think I could even tell you why I like them but there you are.

A new Commander

I had to make a new EDH deck, because that is all one of my players has.  I found two cards I could use for commanders.  One was black, green and white.  The other was red and white.  I thought I could do both, and then I would have two decks, but the more I looked at my red and white cards I thought I could use them to rebuild my Human deck.
In the end I made the black, green and white deck.  My commander is Teneb, the  Harvester
                X7 Forest
                X26 Swamps
                X7 Plans
                Grissy Spectacle
                Bloodline Keeper
                Child of Night
                Mass of Ghouls
                Raise Dead
                Stromkirk Patrol
                Essonce Warden
                Zealous Persecution
                Death Baron
                Dross Prowler
                Vampire Outcasts
                Tainted Specter
                Dreg Mangler
                Sewer Ghambler
                Cultivate
                Deathspore Thalid
                Vampire Nighthawk
                Strength from The Fallen
                Assassinate
                Onyx Goblet
                Twisted Abomination
                Animate Dead
                Grave digger
                Screeching Bat
                Markov Patrician
                Grave Scrabbler
                Barony Vampire
                Search for Tomorrow
                Sengir Vampire
                Bloodflow Connoisseur
                Baleful Eidolon
                Driegraf Ghoul
                Caravan Vigil
                Phyrexian Delver
                Midnight Charm
                Blood Seeker
                Shepherd of Rot
                Pulse Tracker
                Infectious Host
                Weed Strangle
                Daily Regimen
                Bloodrage Vampire
                Polukranos, World Eater
                Doom Blade
                Tendrils of Corruption
                Shadow Alley Denizen
                Dread
                Soul Net.
So there is a new EDH deck, I am sure I will be making some changes to it latter.  So until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 13 & 14

Oh man it is another double hitter, am I play #D&D or baseball.  So today we are going to look at my favorite trap and favorite NPC.
Traps are fun, I wish that in 4e they worked the same as in old games, but I tried one time to make them work and it was ok.  In Grimtooth’s traps I am not sure what vol it is, but it is product #8501.  On page 2 is a room trap that has to wheels that slam in to barrels of acid.  I love this trap and in one of my 4e games I used it, it was great.
One of the players was not able to get out, and was burned because of the acid.  And what came next was even better, two of the players tried to sew a mask on to his face.
I am not sure I have a favorite NPC, there have been so many throughout the years.  I can say that in the 5th edition game I am playing there have been a few that I don’t like.  Ok I lied she is not really a D&D character but she runs a D&D game, and she is Tinny Tina.  She is one badass mofo. And I need to create someone based off of her that would be fun.  So there it is, until next time Keep Gaming

Day 12 Favorite Dungeon Type/Location

So todays question or what every it is, has many parts to it.  Sometimes I like city adventures but in the 5th edition game I am playing in, I am glad we are leaving the city we are in.  Most of the Red Hand of Doom was an outside adventure.
The Neverwinter game that I am writing has both dungeons and wilderness, and city adventures and what is fun will depend on what the players do.  In the city it could be fun being in the House of Knowledge, and if they go to the tower of An-Tok-Na that is going to be a lot of fun, and even more if the open the door to nothingness.
It is really short today but until next time Keep Gaming.

Day 11 favorite adventure you ran

So my favorite adventure I ran was but in to the gaming world I was using at the time.  I was building my game around the world of the oriental Adventure.  I used all the monsters for the OA, and most of the settings.  I even used some of the minor clans like the turtles.  I allowed all the class and races, it was great when one of the players wanted to play a New Zombie.
It was great when one of the players could not figure out that the woman who was trying to take him to bed was a spider demon, and then when she started attacking he just stood there.
There was one time the players were invited to play go with some very powerful people and the monkey race based character did better than the humans.  The whole game was fun.
But now let’s get in to the main adventure, because I have always wanted to run or play Against the Giants, I throw it right in to the OA game.  I was one of the best things I had done.  We only made it to the part where the Red Dragon was due to one of the players moving.
I have always wanted to see a Dwarven monk climb the walls of the Hill Giant hold and kill the two sleeping Giants but this time someone got the idea to knock on the door.  They were still able to clear the level without the hold without any problems.  They did leave a lot of treasure behind.

Day 10 Craziest in game experience

Due to a family emergency, I was not able to get a blog out Yesterday, so I will start with that one first and then do the one for today.  There are so many crazy things that happen in games so I am not sure what my favorite is.  One thing my group still talks about is the day I killed 3 characters, 2 of them in the same game.
When we first meet the clock-work Hydra, it was crazy, it was even crazier, when it broke out of the ice and in to the city.  Most of the battles we had in the Ptlous game were crazy.  There was one battle that I throw a vial of pee, at a demon and the pee turned in to an angle.

The Red Hand of Doom, was another game that was crazy fun.  Just about every fight with each of the dragons, I think the battle with the blue dragon was the best, it had a wand of fire balls.  The best part of the whole game was when Awsomeman told one of the woman officers to get in the kitchen and make him a sandwich.
I think that is it for now so we can move on to the next adventure.

Day 9 Favorite PC you want to play

I have a problem with the idea that I or someone else would want to play my character, or I play theirs.  The coolness of a character comes from the way we play that character.  So if you started playing Guin the assassin it would not be the same as when I play her.
I give you Awsomeman.  Even though most of the time we called him not so.  When Awsomeman was created in the Free Port adventure, and lasted a really long time enjoying the final battle of The Red Hand of Doom, and maybe finally dying at the hands of a ghost paladin in the Free Port in Hell adventure.
I even wrote a mini adventure for a con, so we could see Awsomeman in action again, and maybe someday we will see him again.
A second story I like to think about form time to time, is a story from 1st edition of Motard the fighter.  When motard started is was a normal fighter, but by reading some things he should not have, his INT, and WiS were lowered to 3.  There is something kind of cool about a fight that was bad ass and just walks up to a Red Dragons and starts petting it, like it was a dog.
                Until tomorrow Keep Gaming.

Day 8 Favorite Pc or your own

Today’s question I think is kind of a dumb one.  What is your favorite PC?  I don’t know about any one reading this, but I don’t think I have a favorite, I like all the Player Characters that I have.
I think I have shared this once before, out of the six characters from my for 1st edition game, I liked them all but the ones that stand out were the cleric, the magic-user, and the monk.  There could have been more if I keep playing 1e, and maybe that day will come again.
There was a lot of characters for 3rd edition, I really had fun playing my cleric that started taking levels as a summoner, but her deity was kind of a jerk to her.  I really had fun playing the Paladin that died so others might life.  And so one and so forth.
I played one 4th edition character at a gaming con, and I based her kind of off the first edition one, and the was fun.  I would have more fun with the assassin I am playing in a 4e game if we did stuff more than one every 2 months.
I have play two characters for 5th edition one was for an encounters that I did not enjoy but that could have been different with the right group and if I had gone more.  And the assassin that I am playing, I am having a lot of fun with that one. And there you have it so until tomorrow Keep Gaming.

Day 7 Favorite Edition

Today’s mission is to find out about my favorite edition of D&D.  while I think you should know right now that I don’t have a favorite, I have one that I like less than others and one I still have to play.  So here we go.
1st edition:  This is what I started with, so there is a special place in my heart for it.  I think it is a simple game that is really fun.  I sometimes wish I could find a group to play with again.  But for now I will have play games that are like unto it. Such as Castles and Crusades.
2nd edition: This is the one I have to get into, by the time I moved on to what everyone was playing at the game store, I was already playing third edition.  There have been some groups here and there that I have tried to get in to but nothing ever works out.  I am hoping that at the gaming con I am going to next year there will be some games that I can get in to.
3rd edition I had a lot of fun with this edition, I ran a few games.  I run a game before my mission for some friends.  Then when I game home I played and ran.  Some of the best games where the Red Hand of Doom and the Free Port adventures.  I was sad that the assassin was something you had to work up to.

4th edition I would have to say that this edition is the farthest from my favorite.  I have only played one time and that was at a con, and that was fun.  All the other times I played I was the DM.  I am still trying to get my Neverwinter writing done.
5th edition, last of all, I really am having fun playing this edition.  I am enjoying the group I am with.  However I did go to one encounter section and I did not like that at all.  I think I will enjoy dming this game when I get to that point.  And there you have it, so until next Time Keep Gaming
